Back in the First Age, Nellas lived in the forest near Menegroth, befriended a young Túrin, and taught him all about Sindarin and the ways of the Elves. She lived a happy, quiet life, keeping to herself and watching everything that went by. This came in handy when she bore witness to the accidental slaying of Saeros by Túrin, and testified to Thingol on her former student's behalf. This was pretty hard to do on account of a paralyzing fear of caves and closed spaces.
On Órë, Nellas continues to live a generally happy, quiet life, in the forest near Delving. She doesn't like it that sometimes people talk about urban sprawl and there's a whole lot more traffic on the road than there used to be, but she knows her cousin keeps a good eye on everything. She still keeps pretty good tabs on things with what she can remember in her diary. (It just helps if you put on rose-coloured glasses to read it.) The country life suits her. Especially since she never did conquer that fear of caves. |
